Meet Our Students: Celebrating Success Stories – Payton MacElheron

In our Meet Our Students: Celebrating Success Stories series, we proudly celebrate individuals whose academic journeys inspire and ignite possibilities. This edition features Payton MacElheron, a graduate of the Honours Specialization in Management and Legal Studies program at Western University’s Moss School of Business and Economics.

Payton’s story is one of exploration and discovery at the intersection of business and law. "I chose the Management and Legal Studies program because I knew I wanted to be entrepreneurial with my abilities," Payton shares. "I also had an underlying interest in law, especially business law, which I hadn’t been able to explore before this module."

The program’s interdisciplinary structure allowed Payton to pursue diverse interests, blending business acumen with a solid foundation in legal principles. "I wasn’t limited to just Finance or Marketing courses—I got a taste of everything," Payton explains. "This variety helped me grow as a person and clarified what I want to pursue in my career."

Peyton also highlights the collaborative and supportive environment within the program. "You really get to know your professors and peers," she notes. "We form study groups, work on projects together, and build each other up. That teamwork translates into the classroom and beyond."

This sense of community, coupled with the program’s dynamic curriculum, has positioned Payton for future success. With a clear focus on business law, Payton is heading to law school equipped with a strong foundation and a well-rounded skill set. "I feel like I have a little bit of everything under my belt, giving me an advantage as I take the next step," Payton reflects.

Payton’s journey underscores the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing new opportunities. "Get involved and don’t be afraid to try something you’ve never tried before," Payton advises. "It pays off in ways you can’t imagine."
