Western Postdoctoral Fellowships Program

Western’s Postdoctoral Fellowships Program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants who will contribute positively to research excellence at the university and help advance Western's strategic research plan. The Postdoctoral Fellowships Program’s objectives are to:
- Attract top-tier postdoctoral talent, nationally and internationally;
- Develop their leadership potential; and
- Position them for success as tomorrow’s research leaders.
The total value to the postdoctoral fellow is $45,000 per year minimum (plus 13% benefits) for two years using a matched funding formula. See below for the advisor cost breakdown.
Western’s Faculty of Social Science (FSS) will be supporting one postdoctoral fellowships each year ($12,500/year) through matching funds for Research Western’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
There is a minimum commitment from the faculty advisor of approximately $13,116 per year for up to 2 years. Augmenting this amount definitely is encouraged to attract top talent.

The deadline for the application is November 5, 2021 and requires a full application dossier with reference letters from the applicant, and a ROLA from the proposed supervisor.
